strengthening jobs and our economy

To restore the Silicon Valley I grew up in we need to renew our commitment to progress.

It starts with common sense ideas that innovated our valley, like prioritizing investments in education and infrastructure, recognizing them as key drivers of long-term economic growth.

To revitalize Silicon Valley, I plan to create a more business and small business-friendly environment through targeted tax incentives, streamlined regulations, and investment in infrastructure. By fostering innovation and collaborating with tech leaders, we can ensure our next generation is prepared to succeed in a changing economy, and we can restore Silicon Valley as a global hub and an engine for the State of California.

  • Expand and Promote Apprenticeship Programs: I want to continue to support pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs like we’ve been doing at the Santa Clara County Board of Education, by leveraging federal and state resources to significantly increase the number and variety of apprenticeship opportunities available. I will focus on expansion into modern apprenticeships in high-growth industries such as technology, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and green energy, along with traditional apprenticeships in construction and firefighting.

  • Strengthen Career Technical Education: I will work with state agencies and educational institutions to enhance Career Technical Education (CTE) programs to ensure they address the current and future needs of California's workforce, emphasizing hands-on learning, real-life skills, and universal access and affordability.

  • Support Small Businesses: I will work to implement measures to ease the burden on small businesses, such as offering tax credits for participating in apprenticeship programs, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and providing access to capital.
